All the children thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Southwards Car Museum this week as part of our investigation of transport. We travelled up to Paraparaumu on one of the new Matangi trains. The children had fun spotting such things as sheep and lambs, cows, horses and foals, the sea and Kapiti Island out of the train windows, and the highlight was definitely travelling through the six tunnels!
At Southwards, the children were fascinated by the vintage cars, planes, emergency vehicles, bicycles and collections of model toys. The bus trip home was also a novelty for many of the children. The trip reinforced what the children have been learning this term and we all agreed it had been a wonderful day out.
